In the summer, Italian people leave the cities and flock to the beaches. This means two things. 1. there is no one around and 2. If you’re not by the sea, there’s nothing to do. Unless you find a skate park hidden in a housing estate.

Descending France by car, my parents picked me up in Bordeaux, reminiscent of the days I’d ask for ‘a lift’ at the same time, giving it a whole different meaning. Bound for the south coast of Portugal a surfing trip was on the agenda. However, an ear infection kept me out the water, so I subsequently hit up the skate parks with my bro. Silves was ok, the park was in HPL, there was no one around. But a girlfriend of mine had previously mentioned a new park in Albufeira. in concrete, with a bowl, cradle, rails. It was the first time I’d ridden a concrete park , I was wack, but 30 litres of sweat later, I got involved.
