In the summer, Italian people leave the cities and flock to the beaches. This means two things. 1. there is no one around and 2. If you’re not by the sea, there’s nothing to do. Unless you find a skate park hidden in a housing estate.
Cesena lies at the north east of Italy. We found the park, known as ‘Jurassic Skatepark’ near the Hippodrome and spend a couple of evenings with a few beers, skating with the friendly locals. A cradle, rail, quarter pipes, fun box and a novel ‘hump’ in the middle. I don’t know the name of this, but it gave you speed before hitting the cradle. It’s lit up at night, which is the time the Italians prefer to go, to avoid the sweltering midday heat.
